Accessibility features at Yonge Corporate Centre include elevators, escalators, and barrier-free washrooms.

As part of its continuing commitment to meeting the accessibility needs of its customers and staff with disabilities, The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Ltd. presents its Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, which addresses compliance requirements from 2012-2017.

The Plan addresses activities and deliverables specified in the Information and Communication, Employment and Design of Public Spaces Accessibility Standards and Regulations and outlines an action plan for meeting these regulations.

This document is available to the public and in alternate format and accessible communication supports upon request.

Security & Life Safety

Creating a safe and secure environment for our tenants is, quite simply, the most important job we have. 

At Yonge Corporate Centre, we've been in the business long enough to know that a safe, secure environment is also a positive and productive environment.

Access Information (Cards / Keys /Main Contact)

Because security is a top priority at Yonge Corporate Centre, all clients are required to have a passcard in order to access the property after normal business hours. Individuals arriving at the complex without their passcard will require an authorized client representative to escort them into the property. Persons without a passcard, such as visitors, will also be granted access to the property if an authorizing letter has been received by the Security Operations desk in advance of their arrival.

  • If a client forgets his/her passcard, a doorbell is located at the front door handicap entrance.
  • To obtain a passcard, a written request/email is required from an authorized representative of the client.
  • If a passcard is lost or stolen, immediately notify Building Security at 416-222-4993.
  • Passcard issuance hours: Monday to Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. by appointment. The passcard office is located on the concourse level of 4100 Yonge, near the escalators.
  • After Hours: 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday to Friday and 24 hours on Saturday, Sunday and Statutory Holidays.

Safe Walk

Many of our clients work late or on weekends, and we want them to feel safe and secure when leaving the office to access their car or transit. To provide added security and peace of mind, we've created the Safe Walk Program. Call 416-222-4993 to arrange for a security guard escort from your office to your destination.

Emergency Preparedness / Contact Information

Yonge Corporate Centre has been designed to be as fire proof a complex as possible with sprinklers and 24 hour monitoring throughout the office floors, concourse and parking garage. Still, the possibility of a fire occurring does exist.  We therefore have in place Emergency Fire and Evacuation Procedures. Clients, with the assistance of volunteer client Fire/Evacuation Wardens, are required to be familiar with all evacuation procedures if an emergency does arise.

If you discover a fire anywhere in the complex, follow these steps:

  • Locate and activate the nearest fire pull station.
  • Immediately notify the floor Evacuation/Fire Wardens of the fire's location.
  • Follow the instructions of the floor Warden(s) and proceed to the nearest stairwell.
  • Evacuate the building.
  • Remain outside the building until clearance is given by Building Management or the Fire Service.

If a fire alarm does sound, the evacuation system will automatically place the complex in fire mode. The following sequence of events will occur.

  • An alarm will sound.
  • All mechanical air handling systems will shut down.
  • All mag locks will release.
  • All elevators will return to ground level; do not attempt to use elevators.
  • Announcements will be made to inform/direct clients.

It is important for all clients to be aware of procedures and responsibilities in place in the event of an emergency.

Training Information

Throughout the year we present clients with a variety of Awareness and Training sessions, ranging from CPR training to personal development courses. They're free and always informative.

  • Lunch & Learn Seminars -  These regularly scheduled sessions address a range of topics. From health and safety issues to fashion and security awareness.
  • CPR/First Aid/WHMIS Training - Everyone should have a basic understanding of CPR and First Aid. For those with a facilities background or job description, WHMIS or hazardous materials training is must.
  • Safety Day at YCC - Held annually in the month of May during National Safety Week, information sessions share knowledge on various safety topics in the workplace and at home. Representatives from the Toronto Police and Fire Services, SPCA and Emergency Services provide expert training.
  • Evacuation Warden Training - Semi-annual classes are conducted for all volunteer Fire Wardens.
